A great neighborhood

Pullman is a quintessential college town—one of the best in the nation according to a 2012 MSN report. At its heart is the University, called a “residential campus” because it’s home for thousands of students from 50 states and nearly 100 countries. Single freshmen under 20 spend their first year living in a campus residence hall or University-recognized fraternity or sorority. In residence halls, living-learning communities keep freshmen focused; they’re proven to help students earn higher grades.

The University offers nice, quiet apartments just for students with families and graduate students. Many students, as well as University faculty and staff, make their homes off campus in the beautiful, tree-lined neighborhoods of Pullman, as well as in surrounding communities.

Students and faculty can access advanced computer labs, high-tech classrooms, and one of the largest library systems in the Pacific Northwest.

Activities, culture, and entertainment

It’s all right on campus. Just walk to Beasley Coliseum to hear lectures from influential visitors, see big-name entertainers, and watch the Cougs square off in Pac-12 basketball. Join the throng of fans at Martin Stadium to cheer on the Cougar football team. Celebrate and learn at cultural events. Stroll through the WSU Museum of Art or grab a bite to eat at the CUB (Compton Union Building).

World-class sports

Both students and faculty play in one of the Pac-12's largest intramural sports programs and can choose from a huge menu of recreational activities. Athletics fans cheer on the Cougs, who compete in at the NCAA Division I level in nine women’s and six men’s sports.
