The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMA) is dedicated to providing academic, cultural and social support to the multicultural students in the community of Wheeling Jesuit University. OMA strives to develop a sense of community among all students by promoting recognition, respect, and acceptance of multicultural students. It is important for one to affirm his or her own identity as well as to participate fully in university life. OMA’s programs and services seek to enhance the students’ enjoyment and success while at Wheeling Jesuit University.

  • Multicultural Center

    Students are invited to relax and meet other multicultural students here at this center during office hours. Open to everyone.
  • Mentor Program

    Available to multicultural students who wish to seek a mentor. Check out our Mentor Program Link or contact us for more information.
  • Multicultural Leadership Council

    The MLC is a council for leaders from multicultural organizations to discuss diversity issues, organize events and programs and collaborate on the same goals.
  • Online Newsletter

    Published monthly for everyone interested in our Office of Multicultural Affairs. Articles and updates on our events and programs will be included in this newsletter.
  • Counseling & Advising

    This service is available for students who are facing multicultural issues or concerns and need some counseling and advice from our staff. Contact Jennifer Banks or any staff at the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

International Students

With students from more than 20 countries and throughout the United States, Wheeling Jesuit is truly a global community. Diversity is always celebrated as students from all faiths, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds call our campus home. We honor these differences annually at our campus-wide Culture Fest, an event where students share their heritage and customs with peers, faculty and the local community.

With 73% of students participating in internships and field experiences within the local community, Wheeling certainly earns its reputation of being a small town with big opportunities.



 Situated in the northern panhandle of West Virginia on the Ohio River, Wheeling is a tight-knit, safe community with all the amenities of a large city. Wheeling's charm includes unique stores and shopping complexes, beautiful parks, walking trails, coffee shops and its very own symphony. Local landmark favorites, like The Alpha for drinks and wings and DiCarlo's for pizza by the slice, are a short walk or bike ride from campus. If a weekend trip with friends is in the cards, Pittsburgh is just an hour away, while Columbus, Cleveland and Charleston are within a three-hour drive from Wheeling.
