Description:
Amherst College invites applications for the Capital Stewardship Manager position. The Capital Stewardship Manager is a full time, year round position, job group and level PT-4. Working under the direction of the Director of Design and Construction and in collaboration with the Director of Facilities Operations, the Capital Stewardship Manager will design and implement a program to assess and document the condition of the Facilities portfolio. The Manager oversees projects that relate directly to asset reinvestment and capital renewal to ensure that the net asset value of the campus is maintained at optimal levels. The Manager will assist in preparation of budget submittals for capital projects; provide analysis to demonstrate the effectiveness of the college’s capital renewal funding; collaborate with other key players in the Facilities department to ensure that capital renewal actions are consistent with the overall goals for facilities stewardship and enhancement.

Key Responsibilities
Design and Project Management
- Develop conceptual designs and budgets at the request of the Director of Design and Construction to provide budget information to departments for small to medium size projects
- Oversee small to medium size renovation projects stemming from user requests that are too complex for Facilities Operations
- Implement capital renewal projects that require advanced and complex project management skills
- Oversee large scale energy conservation projects
