Basic Function |
Oversee and maintain a large and diverse collection of digital and 16mm film production equipment and projection systems. Manage student checkout and returns of equipment. Enforce departmental equipment policies. Provide technical and operational classroom and teaching support for departmental faculty. |
Essential Job Functions |
Prep and organize equipment packages for daily student checkout. Ensure that returned equipment is complete and in working order, including required follow-up with students and faculty. Supervise day-to-day operation of equipment room (check-in/out of film and digital equipment), maintaining all production equipment (cameras, lights, sound recorders, tripods, microphones, etc.), performing necessary repairs or sending equipment out for repair, maintaining 16mm/35mm projectors and editing equipment, shipping out film for processing. Provide technical and operational classroom and teaching support for departmental faculty. Prepare classrooms and equipment for instruction, demonstration and use, and assisting faculty with digital file management. Troubleshoot classroom audio/visual equipment as needed. Interfacing with appropriate University offices (ITS, Physical Plant, etc.) to resolve equipment issues, questions, or problems. Maintain and update equipment inventory. Order supplies and equipment repairs using Denison’s online procurement system. Perform other duties as assigned. |
Minimum Qualifications |
High school diploma or equivalent required. Working knowledge and usage of film/digital production equipment. |
Preferred Qualifications |
BA in film/video production. 1-3 years of experience with Apple OS X, Adobe Premiere Pro and other Creative Cloud applications, DVD Studio Pro, as well as Arriflex SR/S and Éclair NPR/ACL film cameras. |

Lifting up to 50 lbs. and bending and stooping. |
