RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach all levels of the curriculum in robust German department, from beginning courses to upper-level German Studies seminars and the senior capstone. Teaching load is two courses in each of three terms. In addition, teaching in Lawrence’s flagship Freshman Studies program. Additional responsibilities include an active research agenda and all service-related activities associated with a tenure-track position, including student advising, committee work, and other forms of institutional service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to offer a variety of German Studies courses at all levels. Scholarly expertise and teaching areas open both in terms of subject and time period (Enlightenment to present). Ability to contribute to an interdisciplinary area such as Global Studies or Ethnic Studies desirable. Native or near-native proficiency in the German language. PhD in German Studies or equivalent by time of appointment.
RANK AND SALARY:
Tenure-track. Assistant Professor. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment begins September 1, 2019.
