SUMMARY:
The Planetarium Manager and Instructor is a 12 month position that provides support for the Planetarium Director in all phases of running the planetarium including, but not limited to, presenting and creating shows, operating and maintaining planetarium equipment, managing accounts, and scheduling.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produces, schedules and presents planetarium shows.
- Creates publicity materials for all planetarium events.
- Maintains records of budget, attendance, etc.
- Teach one course in the Department of Physics & Astronomy each long semester (Fall & Spring).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in physics, astronomy or related field.
- Experience/Skills: Planetarium related experience (direct or indirect) Strong presentation skills (material development and delivery). Knowledge of astronomy and basic scientific principles.
- Ability to: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to work with a high degree of professionalism. Ability to operate and maintain planetarium equipment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
- Education: Master’s Degree in physics, astronomy or related field.
- Experience/Skills: Experience working in a digital planetarium
