Diversity Profile

Commitment to Diversity:

The University of Central Florida is committed to diversity. Woven into the deeply-held values of the campus community is a commitment to the university’s fourth strategic goal, “to become more inclusive and diverse.”  Established in 1992 by President John C. Hitt, the goal demonstrates UCF’s enduring emphasis on diversity and inclusion.  The university embraces and celebrates the multitude of experiences, perspectives, and “voices” diversity brings to its many campuses and continually pledges itself to and attains excellence by creating an inclusive environment for learning, teaching, and research.

Office of Diversity and Inclusion

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion efforts lead and inspire a welcoming and respectful campus culture and work to make diversity and inclusion visible and active elements that indelibly permeate the life and values of the campus community.  Our students, colleagues, and constituents represent diverse peoples and perspectives across multiple generations.  Educational programming, student, faculty, and staff mentoring and leadership development, and consultations are central to the work of the department.  The department fosters relationships both inside and outside of the UCF community to help raise awareness and educate students, businesses and individuals about topics concerning diversity and inclusion through training, mentoring, seminars and other learning opportunities.
