The Gender and Women’s Studies Program offers undergraduate students a vibrant and rigorous course of study that cultivates a critical understanding of the role that gender plays in the construction of identities and the social and political organization of culture. It welcomes students who are eager to explore the connections between and among the many meanings that gender – as well as race, sexuality, class and disability – has in our lives, our scholarship, our communities, and our politics.
Position Summary
The Gender and Women’s Studies Program at the University of Denver requests applications for the position of adjunct instructor for the academic year 2019-20. Each year, the program offers two, two-credit colloquia courses taught by adjunct instructors and an additional adjunct instructor to teach a specialized GWST topics course (four credit hours). The Program is seeking to hire three adjunct instructors to teach the following classes:
- GWST 2981 Colloquium in Gender and Women's Studies, Winter term 2020 (2 credits)
- GWST 2982 Colloquium in Gender and Women’s Studies, Spring term 2020 (2 credits)
- GWST 2700 Topics in Gender and Women’s Studies, Winter term 2020 (4 credits)
In general, these courses reflect current trends within the field of gender and women’s studies, draw on multiple disciplines, and are engaging for undergraduate students. They should be unique to GWST and not resemble courses taught in other departments at DU. For th
