Student Note Taker/Reader/Scribe, Special Services
The accommodation of note taking services is offered to eligible students who are registered with the Department of Special Services. The part-time note taker attends one or more classes with his/her assigned student. During the class lecture, the note taker must write or type complete and detailed notes. After class, the note taker brings the notes to the Special Services Office and places a paper copy of the notes in a folder that is set up for the note taker's assigned student. The note taker must deliver the notes to the Special Services Office no later than 5 pm on the same day as the class meeting. Some assignments may require that the note taker retrieve and pack the student's books and supplies.
Eligible students, who are registered with the Department of Special Services, may be eligible to receive the assistance of a reader or scribe. The services provided by a reader or scribe enable eligible students to fully express their knowledge in a test or exam setting.
